The origins of Cellers de Scala Dei date back to the 19th century when, following the confiscation of Mendizábal, the families of the current owners acquired the Scala Dei lands and became the precursors of wine bottling.

The facilities are located in old dependencies of the Carthusians. The aging cellar is a 17th century building, located in the emblematic building where the attorney of La Cartoixa lived.
