Food pairing

The hedonistic Brunello di Montalcino Martoccia di Brunelli Luca is seductively rich and intense, with ripe, juicy black red berries, toasty oak, cedar, sweet spice, smoke and earth. The ripe chewy tannins are complemented by vibrant acidity, adding tension and precision, with a delicious depth of flavour. Perfect with juicy tender Chicken Cacciatore! Buon appetito!

About the producer

In 1964, the Brunelli family bought a small farm comprising some 3 hectares of vines in Martoccia, on the edge of Montalcino. In 1988, Mauro and his son Luca purchased a further parcel of land, so that now the estate totals 15 hectares, of which 5 hectares are classified as Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Vineyards are located on the southwest side of Montalcino, at an average altitude of 250-300m. Luca encourages low yields in order to focus on quality & authenticity. 1 hectare comprises approximately 5,000 buds on the best Sangiovese vines. From this location, the grapes are exposed to the sun for the entire length of the day and are likewise protected from the cold north winds. At this altitude, the grapes acquire the maximum expression of their fragrance, whilst achieving excellent degrees of ripeness. The land, rich in stones, guarantees excellent permeability and consequent drainage of rainwater.
