About the producer
Bodegas Monfil is situated in the northeast of Spain on the Ebro River, where the grape varieties Garnacha and Tempranillo are the speciality. Their vineyards cover approximately 22 hectares, over a myriad of different microclimates, due to soil variation, altitude variation and orientation differences. Still owned and run by the Matéo family, the business was originally established in 1943 but they did not bottle their own wine until 2004. Now run by siblings Maria, Victor and Ana, the bodega’s beautiful, very old vineyard holdings produce gloriously seductive fruit from their gnarly bush vines. The resulting wines are excellent wines and offer stunning value.
